About Úhlava o.p.s.

The Úhlava General Benefit Society is a non-profit organization founded by four legal entities and twelve individuals in 2001 in Klatovy. We adhere to the traditions of Úhlava, the association of academics for the Pošumaví region, and try to build on the activities that this association developed in the last and the century before last not only in the Klatovy region, but also in other regions of southwestern Bohemia. We cooperate closely with academia, especially with the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

We are engaged in educational, consulting and information activities focusing on the environment, agriculture, tourism and other areas. For 11 years we have been the announcer of the Regional Food Competition in the Pilsen Region. The current challenge for us is also Society 4.0 - a new phenomenon associated with the digitalization of the economy. Cooperation on the Regional Specialties portal is another result of our long-term support for small farms, food businesses and small craftsmen in the Pošumava region.
